My First Culture

Wake up!
My eyes, my eyes
They are open
They are looking
Looking at the colours they feel
They know, they record what they see

Although i was not there in body
But still, yes!
My soul was there
It was born long ago
It doesn't forget its beginning
Its origin, africa!
It makes me strong

I can still hear, the voices
The voices of my ancestors
I can still hear
The voices of a strong people
The voices of strong men and women
Their children
Dancing, singing, celebrating
Some watching
Watching to learn the basic ritual
Of their forefathers
This being handed unto them in such fashion
Such glamour.

The rich colourful culture
The first culture
It never dies
It lives within me
It lives for eternity
